In his current role, which he has held for three years, Stewart is responsible for the management of over 12,500 structures assets, including 4,531 bridges, 69 tunnels and three major structures. He is a Chartered Civil Engineer with over 25 years’ experience in the design, construction, inspection, assessment and asset management of rail and road structures. Stewart has worked for Network Rail and its predecessor since 2001, and prior to that worked for a roads authority for four years and a civil engineering consultancy for nine years.
